2009 Annual Mark Jeffrey Memorial Game

On Wednesday, the V-Reds host the STU Tommies at the Aitken Centre in the annual Mark Jeffrey Memorial game. In case you're wondering, UNB holds an all-time record vs STU of 10-4-1 in the Mark Jeffrey games. Hopefully the team add to that winning total.

The Reds will have their hands full. Bretton Stamler and Ryan Seymour are both out with the rare automatic suspension for fighting, while the Tommies are coming off a win vs StFX, and an OT loss to the mighty SMU Huskies, proving you can never take a team lightly in the AUS. And we all know the Tommies would love nothing more than to play spoiler.

UNB needs 10 points over its next 7 games to clinch 1st place, which secures home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs, and a 1st round bye.

In the meantime, please check out this excellent write-up on #17 Mark Jeffrey over at www.vredshockey.com.
