The Reds came out fast and strong scoring 5 goals in the first period en route to a 6-3 victory over the #1 seeded University of Alberta Golden Bears. More to come...
Was a great game. If the boys came out that hard to the net in AUS finals it would have been over in two. Who would have thought that without Tremblay we'd score six against vaunted Bears! Secondary scoring finally showed up. What a game for Clendenning, MacIntosh and Campbell up front, and the whole D crew.
Respectfully object to the reference to UNB as "The Boys In Red." That's a phrase, and a group of kids that conjures up a whole different memory and circumstances and shouldn't be used in a "happy" connotation at all. Great win, a big win and congrats to all concerned. But "The Boys In Red" are those seven basketball players from Bathurst and always will be. Maybe I'm too sensitive and if so, I apologize. Not trying to piss on anyone's party.
While obviously familiar with the terrible tragedy, we were unaware of the phrase's use. Out of respect we've edited the comment and we'll be more careful in the future. Thanks for bringing that to our attention.

Thanks for the above and your prompt attention. Good luck, V-Reds!
Before the team started using the name 'Red Devils', UNB was known as the 'Red'n Black' - this would be a more appropriate colour moniker.
...or you could just use your proper nickname and call yourselves Red Squirrels. Right????
Or CIS champions. That would work too.
Haha...beat me to it...but lets not get ahead of ourselves...
