Dacosta Signs Pro Contract

Big thanks to everyone who emailed us to point out that former UNB defenceman Justin Dacosta was signed to a 2-way deal by the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins/IHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks. The Griffins are the AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings. Here's the press release.

Best of luck to Justin, with a bit of luck maybe we'll get to see his patented shoot-out move on the AHL highlight reel this season?

Good for DaCosta, he deserves it. I wonder what actually happened that caused him not to play much towards the end of last season. I think it must have been more than him just being a healthy scratch.

Not bad for a #6 Dman on AUS team! Even if he only makes an appearance at AHL level, he can say he has the contract!!! Speaks volumes of the quality of player we have at UNB.
