ACA@UNB – Friday, Oct. 30th at 7pm

The V-Reds are back in action Friday night when the Acadia Axemen visit for the first time this season.  Last weekend, Acadia pushed UNB to the limit. It was a late power play goal by Luke Gallant that gave UNB the win with a final score of 3-2.

UNB (5-0-0) enters Friday night’s game after a hard fought overtime victory over STU (2-2-1) on Wednesday night thanks to the overtime efforts of John Scott Dickson, Kyle Bailey, and Ben Shutron. UNB still leads the conference in goals, assists, points, shots, penalty killing, and goals allowed per game.

Sitting at 2-2-0, Acadia has found the net 13 times in 4 games, while, they have also only allowed 14 goals, only UNB has allowed fewer goals at 10. Acadia has outshot opponents this year, averaging 35.8 shots per game while only allowing an average of 28 shots per game by opponents. Acadia’s power play is the worst in the AUS at 3 for 25, while the penalty killing unit is the second worst, allowing 7 goals on 22 attempts. Philippe Bertrand, Spencer Jezegou, Jonathan Laberge, Chris Bruton, and Andrew Clark have provided the majority of Acadia’s scoring punch.

The game will be available on Rogers Cable TV or UNB Hockey on Twitter.
