V-Reds Take On Maine

The V-Reds will take on the University of Maine Black Bears tomorrow evening at the Alfond Arena in Orono.  Maine is coming off a big upset victory over NCAA #3 Colorado College to capture the Florida College Classic.  The Black Bears are 10-7-2 so far this season overall and are currently riding an 8 game unbeaten streak into this one, so UNB will face some very stiff competition in the final exhibition game before the AUS season resumes. Offensively, Maine is led by Swedish standout Gustav Nyquist, who has accumulated 30 pts in 19 games this season.

The game is tentatively scheduled to be broadcast on CHSR 97.9 FM at 8 PM, but the nasty weather in the forecast may jeopardize that.  We'll pass on final confirmation sometime early tomorrow.

Will the bus be going regardless of the weather?

Anyone know if Wright is expected to play tomorrow?

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it was cancelled. Hopefully it would be rescheduled.

I talked to Sparks this morning at a Minor Hockey game and he mentioned they may not be going - depends on the weather. I suggest everyone call UNB and/or UMaine and follow this and my site to be sure the game is a 'go'.

They may not go because they may feel they could not get back.

Well, if you look now at the vreds.unb.ca website at the schedule on the top right, they are now showing the game as canceled.

The game has been offically cancelled. Possibly to be rescheduled for a later date. Check vreds.unb.ca for the full release.
