StFX@UNB, Fri. Feb. 12th 7PM

Tonight, the CIS #1 ranked UNB V-Reds (26-0-0) begin their final weekend of the regular season, and look to continue their record setting ways as they host the StFX X-Men (10-12-4) at the Aitken University Center.

UNB enters the evening one point behind their AUS record of 53 points from two seasons ago (26-1-1). The buzz everywhere is around the prospect of the perfect season; the CIS website has posted an article running down the perfect season thus far, while the Daily Gleaner has an interview with John Scott Dickson in which he talks about the excitement within the team themselves to work towards that perfect season. UPDATE: David Kilfoil chimes in with his commentary over at the CIS BLOG.

The X-Men are is a different position; they enter the night on a three game losing streak, finding themselves in fifth place at the moment. StFX will look to come out strong tonight, not only to be the team to beat the undefeated V-Reds, but also to get prepared for their first round matchup which will most likely be against the fourth place UPEI Panthers (13-11-2).

The game will be available on Rogers TV, broadcast on CHSR 97.9 FM, and updates will be available on UNB Hockey on Twitter.

We'll just be on CSHR-FM tonight. We had asked Rogers TV to ensure that we didn't have the technical problems that have plagued us several times when we tried to simulcast the television audio on radio, but I just found out Rogers has decided to have someone else to the TV broadcast tonight. Not sure who. We'll be back on Rogers on Saturday, as there will NOT be a CHSR-FM broadcast of that game.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't very clear. The game tonight will still be on Rogers TV, just that Dave and I will NOT be doing the broadcast - we'll only be on radio and not simulcasting the TV broadcast as was originally planned.

UNB lost, something is wrong in this world. I'm wearing a black arm band tomorrow. And on home ice none the less. :-(

Fire the coach, start the inquiry!! :)

that was terrible.you dont loose that game when your up 3-0.i think the problem was getting the lead to early and poor fullerton must of been freezing in his scates with only 3 shots in the first.hope they meet in the playoffs for some revenge...iceman

UNB probably played their sloppiest defensive game of the year....they didn't give up many shots but gave up way too many odd man rushes. The 5-3 PP's were also huge as UNB failed on two lengthy 5-3's and St. FX converted on their one opportunity. But obviously the story of the game was Gillis...I had a bad feeling after about 5-10 minutes when UNB was outshooting X something like 10-1 and it was scoreless that he might steal the game. Oh well...would rather lose a game now then during the playoffs or Nationals..
