UNB@StFX Fri. Feb. 5th, 7pm

Tonight, the CIS #1 ranked UNB V-Reds (24-0-0) travel to Antigonish to do battle with the StFX X-Men (10-10-4) at the Keating Millenium Centre.

Coming off a 5-1 win on Wednesday night against the UdeM Aigles Bleus (8-15-1), the V-Reds look to continue their preparations for the playoffs and to continue working to improve their already dominant performance thus far this season. UNB looks to be the first team in CIS history to start the regular season with 25 consecutive wins. On a player note, both John-Scott Dickson and Hunter Tremblay sit at 49 career regular season goals, let's cheer them on to get that big #50 each!

StFX is coming off of a shootout loss to UdeM on Sunday, and will be looking to get back into the win column as they try to end UNB record setting winning streak in the AUS. A look at the stats finds that UNB and StFX are at opposite ends of the spectrum in one very important category: Penalty-killing. UNB sits first, with a PK of 91.1%, while StFX sits last, with a PK of 75.9%. UNB's PP is also #1 in the AUS at 28%, while StFX sits sixth at 14.6%. One category where StFX is tied for first with UNB is short handed goals, each team having six thus far this season.

The game will be broadcast on CHSR 97.9 FM, webcast on SSNCanada, and can be followed on UNB Hockey on Twitter.

Stats can be found at Atlantic University Sport.

Probably the last big test of the season...remember, it took UNB OT to win in Antigonish earlier this year...should be a good game.
