V-Reds Topple Dinos In First Exhibition Game

It was a chippy way to start, but the V-Reds pulled off a convincing 10-2 victory over the host University of Calgary Dinos in the first pre-season game of the year.  Nobody's getting too excited about this exhibition game, but nine players scored for UNB including Taylor Procyshen (2), Bretton Stamler, Luke Gallant, Spencer Corcoran, Hunter Tremblay, Lachlan MacIntosh, Matt Fillier, Daine Todd, and Dion Campbell.  Honourable mention goes to Ben Shutron with 4 assists.  Travis Fullerton and Derek Yeomans split duties in goal for the V-Reds.

The story in this one is probably the 98 penalty minutes, including a fight (Jordan Clendenning).  With 30 different penalties called, that's an average of one penalty ever 2 minutes.  Anticipate a heated rematch when the teams meet again this Saturday.  UNB is off to Edmonton next to play the UofA Golden Bears on Friday.

Hockey's back, folks.
