Home Opener Vs. Dalhousie Tigers

The V-Reds will open the season tonight at the AUC against the improving Dalhousie Tigers.  Led by Ben Breault and junior star Pierre-Alexandre Vandall, the Tigers have something they've been missing for several years now - a dangerous combination of skilled, speedy forwards that can burn you in a second.

Dalhousie did better than you might expect against the Varsity Reds last season.  After a few early 5-1 and 7-1 blowouts, they showed some improvement and held UNB to closer 4-1 and 5-2 victories in the second half of the season.

For UNB, tonight's game will be the first without Daine Todd, so expect some new line combinations.  Bragging rights goes out to the fan that guesses them correctly in the comments.

Speaking of the V-Red injury situation, some players are stepping up into bigger roles.  Bruce Hallihan catches up with defenceman Bretton Stamler in today's Daily Gleaner.

oh lord, Benjamin Breault, I haven't seen that name in a couple years. I wish the Sabres would have signed him... :/
