Opening Night, The Daily Gleaner's AUS Preview

This evening marks the beginning of the 2010-2011 regular season.  UNB is at UPEI to take on the Panthers 7 PM.  Last year, UNB outscored the Panthers by a margin of 24-3 en route to four straight wins, but UPEI did something UNB couldn't do - beat STFX in a playoff game.  The game will be available on CHSR FM with "The Daves" back for another season.

Edit:  Though not listed on their website, the PantherTV Facebook page suggests tonight's game will be covered.

With the start of the AUS season, The Daily Gleaner's Bruce Hallihan once again delivers the goods with what has become an annual tradition - his AUS Preview.  Make sure you buy a copy of the paper this morning.  One thing is clear, the AUS coaches aren't going to let their teams give the V-Reds a night off this year.

We're on the Island now. Weather, wind especially, is real bad. Fixed Link closed to highsided vehicles, including buses. UNB hockey team had to.shuttle across in vans to.buses at each end of bridge.

Ugh, PantherTV site says internet problem at the rink so no video tonight...hopefully it doesn't affect radio coverage?

UNB lost the season opener to UPEI in 2008/09 and went on to a Gold Medal in TBay.
