V-Reds Lose At SMU by 3-1 Score

An early 5-on-3 power play goal was the difference in very close game that saw the SMU Huskies get past the Varsity Reds by a 3-1 score.  It was a one goal game until the last few seconds when SMU scored an empty-netter.  Lachlan MacIntosh scored the lone UNB goal.  Travis Fullerton took the loss in net.

Penalties will be the game story for this one, and UNB's power play unit couldn't capitalize on its chances.  The loss leaves UNB with an 8-2 record and still in first place in the AUS.

Have to agree on the Penalties - way to many. They had a good chance at the end until Harty got one and that was followed by a Too Many Men call.

If they could capitalize on the PP and reduce the PK - they would be unstoppable.

7 shots in the first and 21 for the game is too low (compared to an average of 36).

Worth noting, in 18 games total, only three teams have scored 3 or more goals on UNB (SMU twice, UPEI and UMass - two of which were wins) . Their 17 Goals Against is the best in the CIS.

Listened in on CHSR. Whatever would we do with Dave and Dave? Sounded like some bad calls, but I still say competition/adversity breeds excellent. Again, this will only help them in the long run.

i watched online and i felt reffing was fair. I am glad that we have Dave*2 but dont kid yourself on the "bias" issue :-) Now the two doofuses doing the Friday game on SSN.....ouch! Baad.

I wasn't implying referee bias, just shitty calls all around. Perhaps the ones against the Reds cost them more than SMU though.

And yes, the guys on SNS are very amateur, but overall it is probably better than nothing at all. I wonder if they get paid anything? I tried using CHSR audio and SNS video but they were out of sync by quite a few seconds.
