Fast Start Launches V-Reds To 4-1 Victory Over SMU

First period goals by Luke Gallant, Spencer Corcoran, and Lachlan MacIntosh gave the V-Reds a lead they wouldn't surrender.  SMU scored a power-play marker in the second period, but MacIntosh added one in the third to put this one away for good.  The final score was 4-1 for the good guys.

Travis Fullerton got the start and had a strong game, including some huge saves in the second period when SMU was pressing hard.   Final shots favoured UNB 32-21.

Surprisingly, a decent crowd of people braved the treacherous snowstorm to see the game.  To reward the faithful, UNB gave them free tickets to tomorrow's game vs. STFX.  Nice gesture.

The win puts UNB 5 points up on SMU for first place in the conference.  UNB is back at it tomorrow night vs STFX.

That was a nice little shot to the ribs that Wallingford gave with his stick to Corcoran as time expired.
