Procyshen Ends Overtime Thriller

Taylor Procyshen's shot ended a pretty good hockey game with 1:49 left in overtime as the V-Reds defeated the UPEI Panthers by a 2-1 score.  The story in this game was the solid play of rookie goaltender Mark Guggenberger who made over 50 saves to keep his team in this one.

The game started off with an odd play - Tyson Gimblett was ejected for interference from the bench, but UPEI would score off a shot that deflected off of Jonathan Harty and through Derek Yeomans.  The Panthers contained UNB until Hunter Tremblay scored in the second period.  UNB would come close to ending it in the overtime period, hitting a crossbar and a post on separate plays before Procyshen's goal.

Daine Todd made his return to the ice and handled himself well.  He issued, and received several strong body checks and didn't seem worse for wear.  Final shots favoured the V-Reds 56-18.  Rookie Marc-Antoine Desnoyers made his home debut and appeared to earn an assist on the winner (official results pending).

The win keeps UNB in first place with a 3 point lead over SMU, who were 4-2 losers to Acadia.

Can anyone please enlighten me as to why STU has thumped UPEI twice in a row? WTF?

Well look at STU's line-up. How many Islander's do you see playing there? Explains it for me.
