V-Reds Take Game 1 of Pete Kelly Cup

A fast start, strong physical play, and solid goaltending resulted in the V-Reds topping the NCAA's Providence College Friars by a score of 3-1.  Dion Campbell, Josh Kidd, and Nick MacNeil provided the scoring for UNB.  Travis Fullerton stopped 23 of 24 shots for the win in goal.  Final shots of the game were 25-24 for UNB.

Taylor Procyshen skated a few shifts early in the game.  Jeff Lee and Luke Gallant were not dressed for UNB.

The teams will be back at it again tomorrow night for the final game of the Pete Kelly Cup.

Yeah Procyshen only played the first period...hopefully that was planned and he didn't re-injure himself...I thought he looked pretty good out there (well, as good as you can look considering how much time he has missed) and I thought the PP tonight looked as good as it has all year.

Prosychen playing only the first was by design. He'll play two periods Sunday night and the full game against Dalhousie apparently.
