UNB beats Calgary 2-0

For the second night in a row, the V-Reds did battle with the Calgary Dinos, this time it was at the Tri-County Complex in Fredericton Junction.

The V-Reds came out hard, but were unable to find the back of the net in the first period. The second period saw the V-Reds continue to push and they were rewarded at the 3:01 mark when Clendenning scored on a pass from Lee and Campbell. The rest of the second was a back and forth battle, with no more scoring.

The V-Reds continued to push in the third, but were unable to score until Antoine Houde-Caron picked up an empty netter on a pass from Taylor MacDougall at the 19:17 mark.

The V-Reds are in action again on Thursday, September 29th when they travel to Woodstock to take on UQTR.

I noticed Harty wasn't listed in the program...is he not playing this season?

He said Friday night that he was hurt but that he would be playing next week.

Was there a good turn out at the Tri-County Complex?

Looked like a full house to me, but I didn't hear an announced attendance. Harty and Wright did not play either game this weekend, and last night Gardiner said they were "day to day".

I also read today that Thomas Nesbitt has been "returned to his junior team" (in the words of the article...he has already played 5 years in the OHL). Should we be seeing him soon as well?

What about Carroll? I read he got hit pretty hard last night, did he play tonight?

Tyler Carroll got blinded sided by Calgary's Walker Wintoneak last night. He did not dress tonight.

What about Baily? Isn't he returning?

team showing solid d so far and that will be a major strength this year, best group in cis from blueline back. OOnce Nesbitt, Todd, Drummond (and maybe Mignardi) back in lineup, that will provide scoring support to a solid group up front. will be a different team but should be a contender yet again.

bailey at game friday night but alas, en route to Rock for tryout

Dave, do you know what Carroll's status is? Hopefully it's day to day.

Bailey isnt back! how many times are you guys gonna ask :p

Even if Bailey's tryout doesn't lead to a contract I can't see him coming back...I imagine it would either be too late to get into the MBA program or he would be too far behind to catch up.

Gardiner didn't say anything last night about Carroll. I know they'd like to send the video of the hit to someone in CanadaWest if they can.

I seen him at the game last night (or atleast I think it was him, with Todd and Wright keeping stats) and he didn't look worse for wear...although that doesn't mean he couldn't have got a concussion or another less-visible injury.
