AUS Update

In other AUS action tonight: UPEI hammered Acadia 6-1, SMU nipped UdeM 3-2, and STU picked up a critical 6-3 victory over St. FX.

So with one week of play left here is how the standings look: UNB - 37 points (in 25 games), SMU - 36 (26), UPEI - 34 (25), Moncton - 33 (25), Acadia - 32 (26), St. FX - 18 (25), Dalhousie - 17 (25), and STU - 14 (25).

The top of the standings remain a logjam, although Acadia can no longer finish first and are almost out of the race for a playoff bye as they are four points out of 2nd with only two games left to play. Dalhousie's win puts them only a point behind St. FX in the race for the final playoff spot and those two teams still have two games against one another. STU is hanging on by a thread as one more loss (or one win by the X-Men) will virtually eliminate them.

The next AUS action is this upcoming Wednesday with a trio of games scheduled - UNB hosts STU, UPEI travels to UdeM, and Dalhousie visits St. FX. After this all eight AUS teams will have played 26 games heading into the final weekend of the season.
