UNB To Host Russians

The University of New Brunswick announced their opponent for the 8th annual Peterbilt Pete Kelly Challenge to be held on December 30th and 31st, and it has a distinctive international flavour. The Varsity Reds will play a pair of games against a team made up of all-stars from Russia's top junior league - the MHL (similar to the Canadian Hockey League). The event will help celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Summit Series and games will be held at both Harbour Station in Saint John (December 30th at 3PM) and at the Aitken Centre (December 31st at 4PM). Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning and will be $12.50-$18 for the game in Saint John and $10-$15 for the game in Fredericton.

This is the 3rd annual trip to North America for Team Russia, but they typically play games against NCAA competition. Prior to coming to New Brunswick they will play games against the Providence Friars and RPI Red Hawks, two teams that UNB has seen themselves in recent years.
