Carroll Named UNB Athlete Of The Week

University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds forward Tyler Carroll has been named the UNB Athlete of the Week, the school announced today.

Carroll had a big weekend as the V-Reds won both of their games to move back into sole possession of first place in the AUS. On Friday night Carroll scored what proved to be the game winning goal while shorthanded in the 3rd period as UNB defeated the then first place Acadia Axemen. He also had 4 shots and was +1 in the contest. The following night against Dalhousie he scored two goals in the first 7 minutes of the game, including one on the power play, helping UNB race out to a quick 3-0 lead that would stand the rest of the way. He also notched a game-high 7 shots on goal and was a +1.

The second year native of Strathroy, Ontario has built on his solid rookie campaign and emerged as one of the top two-way players in the conference. He currently ranks 2nd in the league in goals (13), 4th in points (21), 5th in +/- (+12), 4th in shots (65), 2nd in power play goals (6), and 1st in game winning goals (6).

Congratulations Tyler!
