LaCosta Signs With Cardiff Devils

UPDATE: The Labradorian has a nice article posted on LaCosta and his decision to join the Devils. You can check it out here.

Former Varsity Reds goaltender Dan LaCosta will be taking his talents to Wales this upcoming season as he has signed with the Cardiff Devils of the British Elite Ice Hockey League. The 27 year old former NHLer will also be working towards his MBA at Cardiff Metropolitan University while playing with the Devils.

LaCosta, of course, led the V-Reds to both an AUS and CIS title last season.

Duffy Signs Pro Contract

The University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds lost a big piece of their recruiting class yesterday as it was announced that former PEI Rockets star Ben Duffy has signed a one year, two-way contract with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs, the top farm team of the Montreal Canadiens.

The 21 year old native of Lower Sackville had committed to the Varsity Reds in early May after posting 110 points in 68 games last year.
