Peters Stymies V-Reds Again

The University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds traveled to Halifax for a date with the Saint Mary's Huskies tonight, and the result was similar to their last appearance at the Forum. Huskies goaltender Anthony Peters once again proved to be the difference as he stopped every shot directed his way in a 2-0 win over the V-Reds. The previous meeting between the two teams in Halifax resulted in a 1-0 Huskies win in the 4th and deciding game of the AUS semi-finals last spring.

- The Huskies scored with 6:02 remaining in the first period and put the game away with a goal with 2:43 left in the 3rd.

- This is the first time UNB has been shut-out in a regular season game since a 2-0 setback to Acadia on November 5th, 2005, a span of 276 games.

- It is the first time since January 13rd and 14th, 2012 the V-Reds went winless over a weekend.

- This is Saint Mary`s 3rd straight win over UNB. They have only surrendered one goal total in those games.

- The V-Reds will look to get back on track when they visit St. FX next Friday night.
