V-Reds Come Back Against X

The University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds spotted the hometown St. FX X-Men a 2-0 lead after the first period, but rallied for a big 3-2 win tonight in Antigonish. UNB moves to 5-1-1 on the season, one point out of 1st place.

- The V-Reds received goals by Cameron Brace (unassisted) just 7 seconds into the 2nd period to cut the lead in half, and then 3rd period goals by Adrian Robertson (Brace, Braes) at 11:09 and Rob Mignardi (MacDougall, Critchlow) with just 5:34 remaining to give UNB their first, and only, lead of the game.

- Tyler Carroll and Adrian Robertson made their returns to the line-up. Alex Wall (out indefinitely) and Chris Caissy (scratched) were out.

- Shots were 33-17 for UNB.

- David Shantz picked up the win in goal.

- UNB was 0 for 4 on the power play. St. FX was 0 for 6.

- St. FX won 33 out of the 61 face-offs in the game.

- Brace was named the player of the game. X-Men goalie Drew Owsley and Adrian Roberston earned the other two stars.

- In other AUS action tonight Saint Mary's went on the road to defeat UPEI 4-1, Dalhousie upset Moncton 4-2 in Halifax, and Acadia blasted St. Thomas 10-4 in Fredericton.

- UNB is in action again tomorrow night when they take on the Dalhousie Tigers at 7PM in Halifax.
