V-Reds Podcast, Injuries

A few notes of interest:

- The V-Reds have launched a UNB hockey podcast, hosted by UNB Law student Matt Ryder. The inaugural episode was released today and features an interview with head coach Gardiner MacDougall. The 30+ minute chat touches on a number of subjects, including a look back at last season, the new recruits, the return of Mike Thomas and Cam Braes, their recent success against NCAA/AHL competition, the upcoming weekend against Acadia and Saint Mary's, and the New York Mets chances of making a World Series comeback. The hope is that a new podcast will be released every two weeks and contain interviews with staff and players among others.

- In his profile of Matt Petgrave that will appear in tomorrow's Daily Gleaner (subscription required), Bruce Hallihan says defenceman Jordan Murray is expected to be back in the line-up tomorrow night against Acadia after missing the previous three games. However, Marcus McIvor and Stephen Anderson will miss both games this weekend.

- It also appears that Francis Beauvillier and Philippe Halley will both be eligible to play despite each receiving a 5 minute major and game misconduct last Saturday night in the game against Harvard. This is obviously good news for a Varsity Reds team that is battling injuries.
