CIS Top Ten (#16): UNB Near-Unanimous #1

The CIS released the men's hockey top ten rankings yesterday and the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds received 1st place votes from all but one of the 16-member media panel to remain the number one ranked team in the country for a 3rd consecutive week.

The V-Reds had a total of 157 points (which means someone ranked them 4th for some reason), comfortably ahead of the UQTR Patriotes, who picked up the other 1st place vote and 139 points to remain in the 2nd spot.

The Saskatchewan Huskies, Alberta Golden Bears, and St. FX X-Men rounded out the top five.

Other AUS teams to receive votes were the Saint Mary's Huskies (9th), Acadia Axemen (10th), and UPEI Panthers (13th).

The V-Reds will finally be back in action tomorrow night when they open their best 3-of-5 semi-final series against the UPEI Panthers. Game time is 7PM at the AUC.
