X-Men Advance To Final

Michael Clarke's power play goal through a screen at 17:35 of the 3rd overtime propelled the #3 ranked St. FX X-Men past the #2 ranked Saskatchewan Huskies 2-1 and into Sunday night's National Championship game.

The Huskies opened the scoring when Levi Cable backhanded a shot from in close past Drew Owsley at 9:12 of the 1st period. The X-Men got the equalizer at 7:37 of the 2nd period on a Brad Cuzner shorthanded goal. Cuzner had s breakaway from the centre line and placed and perfect shot past Jordon Cooke and into the top right corner.

Owsley finished with 55 saves while Cooke had 61 saves for the Huskies, who have played 7 overtime periods and 223 minutes of hockey in the last 3 days.

The X-Men will face the winner of this afternoon's other semi-final between UNB and Saint Mary's in tomorrow night's National Championship game. Saskatchewan will meet the loser in the bronze medal game.
