U Sports Top Ten: UNB Remains First

The latest U Sports top ten men's hockey rankings has the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds maintaining their top ranking.

The defending University Cup champions moved to 20-1-3 on the season after a pair of victories over nationally ranked teams last weekend - 3-2 against Saint Mary's on Friday night and a dominant 6-0 win over Acadia the following night.

The V-Reds received 14 out of a possible 15 first place votes and 148 total points. The next four teams also remain unchanged from last week with St. FX (131 points), Saskatchewan (117 points and the other first place vote), Alberta (112), and McGill (91) rounding out the top five.

There was some movement with teams 6-10. Saint Mary's (71) swapped places with Acadia (57) after the Axemen had an 0-2-0 week. Guelph (45) stayed put at 8th while Concordia (29) moved up a spot to 9th and Queen's (11) re-entered the ranking for the first time since October 17th.
