Reds Split Weekend Games

After letting a 3-1 lead disappear, leading to a 4-3 overtime loss to the Saint Mary’s Huskies on Friday night, the University of New Brunswick Reds used four power play goals to dump the visiting Acadia Axemen 6-1 this afternoon at the 3rd Annual Teddy Bear Toss game. UNB is now 13-0-3 on the season.

Scoring for UNB last night were Cameron Brace, Samuel Dove-McFalls, and Christopher Clapperton. Clapperton (2), Tyler Boland (2), Dove-McFalls, and Boucher found the back of the net this afternoon.

Rylan Parenteau was charged with the overtime loss with Alex Dubeau getting the win today.

UNB out-shot both opponents - 29-23 versus Saint Mary’s and 48-27 against the Axemen.

The Reds close out the first half of their schedule next weekend with rematches on the road. They are in Halifax on Friday night to face the Huskies and Wolfville on Saturday evening to square off with the Axemen. Both games are scheduled for a 7PM start.
