Dubeau Signs With Komets

University Cup MVP Alex Dubeau has signed a professional contract with the Fort Wayne Komets, the ECHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights, for the rest of the season.

Dubeau is coming off of arguably the best stretch of hockey of his university career as he went a perfect 8-0 in the AUS playoffs and University Cup while surrendering a paltry eight goals in that span.

The former Moncton Wildcat concludes his UNB career with two AUS titles and three University Cup championships. He went 46-5-10 in regular season play to go along with a 2.22 goals against average and 0.902 save percentage. He was 15-1 in postseason play for a combined record of 61-6-10 during his four years in Fredericton.

He will join former St. Thomas Tommies and UPEI Panthers forward J.C. Campagna with the Komets. Campagna is currently second in the league with 33 goals for a Komets squad that is 31-21-9 on the season.

The Reds will now be in the market for a goaltender this summer to pair with Rylan Parenteau.
