EDIT: Toledo has released a short write-up on Gazzola's addition for the remainder of the season.

Graduating defenceman Randy Gazzola has agreed to a deal with the Toledo Walleye, the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings.

Gazzola just capped his fifth and final season with UNB by winning a third AUS and University Cup title. He was also named the winner of the prestigious Dr. Randy Gregg Award, which is given annually to the U Sports student-athlete who exhibits outstanding community service.

The Thorold, Ontario native finishes his university career with 105 points (19 goals, 86 assists) in 134 regular season games, 19 points (2 goals, 17 assists) in 26 playoff games, and 12 points (1 goal, 11 assists) in 15 University Cup games. His 28 career postseason assists are the second most in UNB history while his 15 career University Cup games are tied for the most.

Gazzola will be joining a quality team in Toledo as the Walleye are currently 6th in the ECHL with a 36-20-9 record on the season.
