U Sports Top Ten (#4): Back On Top

For the 132nd time in school history, the University of New Brunswick Reds are the top ranked men's hockey team in the nation.

In the latest rankings released on Tuesday, UNB - coming off of a 2-0-0 weekend - gained 1825.12 ELO points. This out-distanced the former #1 ranked Alberta Golden Bears (1779.69) after the Bears suffered their first loss of the season, a 7-3 home loss to the Mount Royal Cougars on Friday night.

The 5-1-0 Carleton Ravens (1648.30) jumped two spots to 3rd, which pushed Ottawa (1643.10) down a spot to 4th. Guleph (1626.48) also gained two positions, coming in at 5th this week to edge Calgary (1619.21). The 5-0-1 Dinos are the only team in the country without a regulation loss.

Rounding out the top ten are Acadia (1592.89), Saskatchewan (1589.48), St. FX (1585.24), who drop five positions to 9th, and Mount Royal (1582.24).
