Reds Roll To Win

The University of New Brunswick Reds scored three 1st period goals and cruised to a 4-1 victory over the Moncton Aigles Bleus tonight at the AUC. UNB improves to 10-3-0 on the season to keep pace with the Acadia Axemen atop the standings.

The Reds received goals in the opening twenty minutes from Patrick Watling (Boland, Pomerleau) at 1:06, Stephen Anderson (Boland, Bennett) on the power play at 14:58, and Samuel Dove-McFalls (Cooper) at 16:25. Matt Murphy (Harvey) added another 9:45 into the 2nd period to make it 4-0.

A Gabriel Vanier power play goal at 17:42 of the middle frame broke Samuel Harvey’s shutout bid.

- Matthew Boucher was out of the lineup while Benjamin Gagne drew in.

- UNB out-shot Moncton 40-23 on the evening.

- The Reds went 1 for 6 on the power play while Moncton went 1 for 5.

- UNB held a 41-20 advantage in the face-off circle.

- Attendance was 3374 on Northside/Francophone Elementary School Night.

- The Reds are on the road tomorrow night to face UPEI.
