U Sports Top Ten (#15): Reds Retain Top Spot

For a 7th straight week, the University of New Brunswick Reds are the top ranked men's hockey team in the country.

The 22-4-0 Reds ran their winning streak to ten games after convincing home wins over the Dalhousie Tigers and St. FX X-Men last weekend. Their 1876.80 ELO points places them comfortably ahead of the Saskatchewan Huskies (1783.25) - who are riding a seven game winning streak themselves and are up one spot to 2nd - and the Carleton Ravens (1750.71), who are back in their familiar spot of 3rd, where they have spent much of the season.

The biggest shock of the weekend may have been the #4 Alberta Golden Bears (1701.09) dropping both games versus the Calgary Dinos (1665.16), who move back into the rankings at the 7th spot. This is the lowest the Golden Bears have been ranked in two years.

Rounding out the rankings are the #5 Toronto Varsity Blues (1681.35), #6 UQTR Patriotes (1672.83), #8 Ryerson Rams (1662.36), #9 Guelph Gryphons (1632.72), and #10 Acadia Axemen (1619.71).

The Ottawa Gee-Gees fall out of this week's rankings.
