U Sports Top Ten (#18): Idle Reds Remain #1

Despite not playing a game last week, the University of New Brunswick Reds maintained their comfortable lead atop the latest men's hockey rankings, which were released earlier today.

The Reds (1914.51 ELO points), who open their playoffs on Thursday night after enjoying a first round bye, remained in the number one position while Saskatchewan (1799.32), Carleton (1783.11), and Alberta (1732.61) all held firm as well.

The first change came in the number five spot with Guelph (1698.60) flip-flopping with Ryerson 1682.80). Another OUA team - the UQTR Patriotes (1663.69) - came in at seven, two spots up from last week.

The Calgary Dinos (1634.71) jumped from 10th to 8th while Saint Mary's (1621.62) and Ottawa 1592.06) are back in the rankings for the first time since November 19th and January 21st, respectively.

Playoff action resumes across the country tomorrow night with three OUA match-ups. The two AUS series get underway on Thursday while both Canada West series begin Friday.
